Producers: Brewer Stouffer and Troy Lanier met in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. They began their collaboration with the intent of creating a short documentary about the nightlife of State Street. After a few weeks of interviews, they began to realize that they were capturing the street at a pivotal point in its life as a unique urban space. Suddenly the project expanded into a full-length documentary. This is their first documentary, and they hope to collaborate on future projects.

Senior Advisor: The veteran filmmaker and voice of Wisconsin Public Television, Jeff Golden, is serving as a senior advisor to the project. Golden has won a number of prestigious international awards for programs he has produced. Golden is also serving as the narrator for the project.

Composers: Leo and Ben Sidran have composed an original score for "Streets Without Cars." A father and son team, Leo contributed to father Ben's soundtrack for Hoop Dreams (MCA Records), while the two have collaborated on numerous jazz records and international tours over the last 10 years. Leo wrote and performed the theme music for two nationally syndicated public-television children's program--"Get Real," which won a mid-west Emmy, and "Talk Box." Ben has been nominated for several Grammys, and produced such artists as Steve Miller, Mose Allison, Diana Ross, Boz Scaggs, and Van Morrison.

Graphic Artist: Andrea Bond works for T-3 in Austin, Texas and sits on the board of the Texas Folklife Resources.

Production Assistance:Dave Eisenberg served as assistant editor, shot some B-roll footage, and conducted research, among other things. He is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He will be graduating in May of 2003 with a degree in Communication Arts and is currently working on the television production crew at Wisconsin Public Television. David is the type of guy yo'd be lucky to get caught in an elevator with. Jessica Ellis Stouffer works for the University of Wisconsin, Madison as well as at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. Miriam Murtuza is a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. Chris Caselli is an independent photographer and all around man of the world.
